So I’m excited for a new opportunity that I’ve been working on the last few weeks with AIM Sport. We’ve been developing some data analysis videos for using the Mychron5 and Race Studio 2. For those who aren’t aware, the Mychron/Race Studio combination is the system that a majority of competition karters use for data-logging and acquisition. However, the concept of data acquisition is a daunting concept for most people to take on.

|World Formula| – Datalogging: Taking notes before getting started #kart

Just recently, I picked up an AIM Mychron 4 and GPS attachment, so I could start gathering more data on my performances when racing my competition kart.

As we’re getting used to the technology, my teammates and I are learning more about how to approach using data acquisition tools. What I decided to do is catalog what we’re learning as we discover new ways to use these tools to go faster.

These posts will be short, and just have tips here and there. There are several videos on Youtube that cover the same topic, and sometimes I’ll link to them. Just another nerd thing, for those who like to read, I guess. Continue reading

Getting ready for a soaking Saturday final during Gold Cup weekend

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to do a project log. It’s been a real busy couple of months, karting-wise, but I’m not complaining in the slightest! To be honest, I’ve never had more fun in my entire life!

One of my teammates, Josh Stanford, volunteered himself to be my chassis tuner to help improve the setup of the World Formula kart after I finished fourth in my first regional race. We’d been noticing some improvements in the kart handling here and again, but given how competitive we had been during the finals of the first Gold Cup race, we’ve really been waiting to take the performance up a notch or two.
