After a frustrating server crash foiled the teaser launch promotion on the Mercedes website this weekend, it’s nice to finally see real pictures of the car. Again this is just my opinion, but if looks could win races then the Mercedes W04 would be miles ahead of everyone else.
As always, you can find pictures of the car all over the web, but click to see the launch video after the jump.
Today, Lewis Hamilton finished his last race for Mclaren-Mercedes, moving to the Mercedes AMG F1 team for 2013. (Take a look at our post of his career move here.) His career has been filled full of success, with chapters of ‘what might have been’ where a combination of team and driver were not living up their potential at times.
The 2008 world champion and the sport’s first black competitor, Lewis’ career has not been without controversy. However, his flashes of sheer-speed have shown the world that he’s one of the world’s fastest talents.
Why have I not posted this video earlier? I’ve always said that Lewis’ GP2 driving was always more amazing than his F1 career. Look and tell me what you think about it.
This video was taken on Jenson and Lewis on the build up for the British Grand Prix. While that race has been over and done with, I’m featuring it for an entirely different reason.
What this video really shows is the passionate and fighting spirit that these two guys have for racing. It shows how important it is to have a strong support team around you, as you’re developing and fighting for a dream. As a driver, or as just someone who loves racing, you have to show enthusiasm, as the challenges before you can be so great.
As you watch this video, take a moment and think about what excites you about the things that you love to do in life.
Use that as your energy to move to the next level.
Sidenote: I promise, I do have some more ‘driving-technique posts coming up soon. I just need to make some time to finish one of them off.
I wish I could have followed Hamilton more during his rise through
the junior categories. Watching his driving, it looks more positive and full of
Also the GP2 commentators are just awesome to listen to here.
There has been alot of talk that popular racers Lewis Hamilton, Vitaly Petrov, Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel and Jeff Gordon are making cameo roles in the new Pixar movie ‘Cars 2′. I found a clip of the movie featuring Hamilton and Gordon.
I know it’s only kind of motorsport-related, but it’s good for a quick ‘lol’.
Take a look. Another bonus video below.
A few weeks ago, we featured a teaser video about Lewis Hamilton and Tony Stewart doing a car swap at Watkins Glen. Yesterday, the event finally happened with Hamilton driving the NASCAR and Stewart driving the MP4-23. Below is some video of the event.
Honestly, I had more fun enjoying watching Hamilton drive the stock car than Stewart in the Formula 1. Still fun stuff. Not as much as a branding success as Jenson Button taking the F1 car around Bathurst, but still a cool event nonetheless. I’m really hoping that Formula 1 uses this event to connect with the North American market in a stronger format than in the past. (Click on the title to see more video, as it comes in six parts.)
This weekend, two Formula One drivers won our “Driver of the Weekend” award. Lewis Hamilton and Mark Webber both put on master class performances in the Chinese Grand Prix this weekend, and deserve credit for their awesomeness. However, both earned this prize for different reasons.
Here is a car that I’ve been waiting for with baited breath. Mclaren’s MP4-12C. Below we have a brief highlight video of the car in action. (Check out the video after the jump)
Recent find. I’ve got to say that Lewis knows how to get the job done. Hopefully, 2011 has more of these moves.

What happens when Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button try to build their own car without their team? This is one of my favorite Vodaphone ads, and since this Saturday has been about awesome car commercials, I want you to see this one too.
