Mad Mike takes on the Crown Range in MADBUL #drifting #drift #fd #rotary #redbull

Mad Mike is one of those drifters, who I absolutely love his style.

Take one quad-rotor FD3S, a super winding road, with some slow-motion shots and you have all of the pieces for a super fun video. No words. Just beautiful noise.

I’d love to do something like this. Thanks to Speedhunters for the original find.

|Video| Miata owner catches car, then himself on fire #drift #facepalmdrift

I honestly cannot believe this. I can count the people on one hand that I know who would catch the car on fire, keep trying to start it, then catch HIMSELF on fire…before posting the video on Youtube.

Some people’s kids, I guess. At least it gives us something interesting to watch. *Facepalm*

|Video| – Japan : Street Life メイハムメディア

I honestly have no idea how Maiham-Media make these videos be so impactful, but once I saw the first ten seconds, I knew I had to share it with you.

The street-life of tuning cars is something that I’ve always been interested in. It has to have the right atmosphere of people in order to work right, but if you can get the right group together you can create magic on the streets.

Latest Drift Union Video goes live…

…actually a few days ago, but I just got ahold of it today.

Drift Union is one of the only ‘local’ drift teams that my buddies keep tabs on. Not only do they know how to have a complete blast as a team, but the way their cars have evolved over the last few years has been pretty sweet.

They’ve adopted the nickname ‘Team Purple’ among some of my friends, just because of the unique color combo on the three car group. Go team, go. ;) Also, it’s sweet to see some shots of my local karting track, PGP Motorsports park in this video.

Check out Drift Union on their blog here.

NA Miata + LS1 = We love Danny George

Thanks to Speedhunters for these pictures. We will be following this LS1 Miata as it ‘crab-walks’ it ways through the 2012 FD Season. Super exciting!

Formula D- Scion FRS: We all knew it was coming.

So I haven’t really been on the bandwagon of excitement for the recently released Toyota FT-86/ Subaru BRZ. For a car that had been in concept for almost six years, I felt that the sparkle had faded when it finally did reach production. Maybe I am just a bit jaded though.

I mean, how many concept cars do we know of that haven’t even made it close to the production line? So I guess we should be counting our blessings that the automotive market has something new and rear wheel drive to get excited over.

So that all being said, what would make me excited to look at this car?

Bam. Enter the Formula-D competition version of the Scion FRS. It’s claimed to have 600hp, developed with the help of Cosworth and a few other big names.

Maybe it’s the styling livery, or maybe it’s the GT Wing, but I like this one. What do you guys think?

So what should car guys do during the off-season?- Anyone have any thoughts?

Kyoko: Winter Mode complete.

I never thought of the winter season, as an ‘off-season’. Rather, it was just a season where everything was just really cold. Although the summer racing season is over, it doesn’t mean that you can’t still be a car guy during the winter.

Here are just a few ideas, I came up with on the fly:

Roughridden Parked Subaru- Drift?

Found this photo at random during my lunchbreak.

Taken in the classic JDM drift-parking lot, I don’t know much about it. I do know however, I love it. (In a way that I’m apart ashamed of.)

You can tell that someone took Toyota Chaser headlights and fixed them to the front, which only the Japanese would think to do. Can anyone help me do some research and find out more about this wagon?

Anyone know any more about it?
